About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital ICU experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications. Description: This is a travel RN position in the ICU department. The unit has a total of 12 beds. Staffing on the unit varies with a mix of roles during both day and night shifts. Patient ratios on night shifts typically range from 1:2 to 1:3. Monitoring and equipment used on the unit includes monitors, CRRT, IV fluids, fluid warmers, and blanket coolers. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Candidates should possess ventilator competency and IV and GTT competency. Procedures commonly performed in this unit include: Dialysis line insertion, arterial line insertions, and central line insertions. Cardioversion, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertions. The ideal candidate will prioritize patient experience. Strong communication with staff and providers is essential. Floating to other areas may be required based on unit needs. Highlights of the unit include: Recognition as an Honorable Mention for Unit of Distinction in 2021 and 2022. Low rates of hospital-associated infections. Tenured staff with low turnover and flexibility in scheduling.
