Transplant Surgeon

Practice Information Methodist Transplant Institute seeks a full-time Transplant Hepatologist to join our dynamic practice and team. Eligibility Completed an ACGME‑approved resident program in Internal Medicine. Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Completed an ACGME fellowship in Transplant Hepatology (preferred). Experience in clinical care on a liver transplant program and sufficient training to qualify as a UNOS primary physician of a liver transplant program (preferred). Clinical research experience and medical administration experience are additional preferences. Clinical Duties Provide outpatient clinic coverage with a mix of new and established patients. Perform endoscopy services such as ERCP if trained, and care of pre‑ and post‑transplant patients. Maintain a scheduled on‑call duty of no more than one of every three weekends on inpatient services. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, attend program‑associated conferences and meetings, and collaborate with transplant team physicians for 24‑hour coverage. Render consultative services to referring physicians during clinic hours by phone or in person. Work with three advanced practice providers to support patient care delivery. Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology. Unrestricted Tennessee MD or DO license, or ability to obtain one. U.S. ACGME residency completion.
