Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Special Requests: Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to follow policy may result in being sent home and/or termination. Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous permanent employees must have been away for 2 years. Previous travelers who worked there for 1 full year must have been away for 2 years. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. Block scheduling allowed if included in the contract.

Unit Details: Tele-level acuity across both floors. Charge nurse coverage varies, and charge nurses may carry a full patient assignment. Uses Philips cardiac monitors with a central monitor station; monitor data flows directly into Epic. Uses Omnicell. Nurses read telemetry strips every 4 hours and document rhythm review in the chart. Set-rate drips include Cardizem, amiodarone, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, Integrilin, and nitro. BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients are managed by RT. No IV team. Hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy are in-house 24/7. Common cases include elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cath patients with or without intervention, post-STEMI patients after ICU recovery, NSTEMI, pacers, peritoneal dialysis, and occasional post-surgical hip or oncology overflow patients. No titration drips, DKA, or ventilators. Peritoneal dialysis will be taught.

Shift & Scheduling: Every-other-weekend; nights rotate Fri/Sat. Travelers may work holidays if needed. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Rarely floats; if needed, may float to ICU overflow Tele or Ortho/MedSurg.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
