Work Environment

This onsite role is situated in our bustling hospital facility, where multidisciplinary teams collaborate to deliver comprehensive care to a diverse patient population. You will work closely alongside physical therapists, physicians, and nursing staff within a dynamic team that values communication and continual learning. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a balanced work-life routine.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing customized treatment plans for patients, utilizing various therapeutic techniques and equipment.
• Guide patients through tailored exercises and stretches during therapy sessions, ensuring proper form and technique to promote safe and effective rehabilitation.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously, documenting changes and feedback for the supervising physical therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on at-home care strategies, appropriate exercise regimens, and safety protocols to encourage independence and recovery.
• Ensure all therapy equipment is properly maintained, sanitized, and arranged to optimize patient safety and care during treatment sessions.
• Adhere to all relevant state and federal regulations, including documentation standards and compliance with HIPAA to ensure patient confidentiality and safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will be directly involved with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from surgery, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and various musculoskeletal issues. Your work will focus on developing individualized care plans that address each patient's unique challenges and goals, ultimately promoting improved mobility, function, and overall wellness.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
• Current California Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility to obtain it.
• CPR/BLS Certification is required, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience in working with patients, ensuring they feel supported and motivated throughout their rehabilitation journey.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in a hospital setting or a similar rehabilitation environment will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for tracking patient progress is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
