Infusion/Clinic RN II- PRN- McKinney

Overview Texas Oncology is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) PRN to support the Infusion and Clinic departments at the McKinney location. Typical hours are Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer all medications / blood products using correct dosage, route, timing, and technique. Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: Level I: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred; RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; must maintain continuing education requirements; entry‑level 0‑3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II: Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior: In addition to Level I and II, minimum five (5) years nursing experience—including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.
