Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team at the Halsey Lab in Portland, OR.Work Schedule:Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM$5,000 Sign-On Bonus Available for External CandidatesJob ResponsibilitiesSupervise the day to day operations of the labAct as a technical resource for high volume areas including Chemistry, Hematology, and UrinalysisProvide support and guidance on specialized testing such as Electrophoresis, CT/NG, Viral Load, Flow Cytometry, and ToxicologyEnsure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the departmentMonitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvementsEnsure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their developmentPerform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as neededMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology4+ years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist/Technologist, with generalist experiencePreferred Qualification1 year or more of previous supervisor/leadership experience1 year or more generalist lab background with experience in Chemistry, Hematology, and UrinalysisASCP or AMT certificationAdditional Job StandardsStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skillsComfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the positionBenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.For more detailed information, please click here.  Labcorp is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer:Labcorp strives for inclusion and belonging in the workforce and does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
