Position Summary

The Accounting Associate is a critical role within the Renovo organization, meaningfully contributing to both the financial and operational aspects of the business. The Accounting Associate supports the financial team through bookkeeping, reconciling, and month-end closing responsibilities. This includes recording cash activity daily into the general ledger software (Sage Intacct), which can require independent transaction research and collaboration with other departments. The Accounting Associate supports the operations team through preparing daily banking transmissions for approval, including for loan closings, construction draws, and accounts payable.

Responsibilities

Accounting Policy and Compliance

• Interpret and implement the company's accounting policy and standard practices

• Verifying accounting balances for interdepartmental communication
\n

Banking and Transaction Management

\n
• Recording bank activity in the general ledger according to company policy
\n
• Inputting banking templates and payments for approval
\n

Accounts Payable and Expense Oversight

\n
• Processing weekly accounts payable run and advising the Controller and management of A/P trends
\n
• Contract, vendor, and expense monitoring
\n

Month-End Close and Reporting

\n
• Taking ownership of critical workpapers associated with the month-end closing processes
\n

Strategic Planning and Departmental Development

\n
• Assist the Controller and management in formulating long-term Accounting Department objectives
\n

Project Leadership and Cross-Functional Support

\n
• Lead ad hoc projects and activities within the Accounting or Finance Department
\n

What We Look For

\n
• Degree in Accounting/Finance or 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience
\n
• Moderate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
\n
• Ability to work independently in comparing and analyzing possible decisions, and consider various possibilities
\n
• High attention to detail
\n
• Organized and able to consistently meet deadlines
\n
• Effective communication skills, both written and spoken
\n
• Willingness to adapt and change with a fast-growing company
\n
• Experience with Sage Intacct or similar is a bonus
\n
