Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct in-depth initial assessments to determine the unique mental health and substance abuse needs of clients, employing evidence-based tools to gather relevant data. \n
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, ensuring they are tailored to address the client’s specific challenges. \n
- Provide evidence-based individual, group, and family therapy sessions, applying therapeutic modalities that best suit each client's needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). \n
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the EHR system, ensuring that all client interactions and treatment strategies are thoroughly recorded. \n
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team, including psychologists, social workers, and psychiatric providers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care. \n
- Participate in regular case reviews and treatment planning meetings, contributing insights and progress updates to enhance collaborative care. \n
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed, demonstrating proficiency in managing acute mental health situations with empathy and professionalism. \n
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in mental health and substance abuse treatment through continuous professional development and training. \n
The clients you will serve encompass a diverse population from Hempstead and surrounding areas, including individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance abuse issues, and other mental health disorders. Your role will significantly impact their recovery journey, providing them with the tools they need to lead healthier lives.
Qualifications\n- \n
- Applicant must possess a master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field. \n
- Candidates must hold a valid license as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. \n
- A minimum of two years of post-graduate experience offering mental health and substance abuse treatment is required. \n
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse client populations. \n
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, fostering a patient-centered approach. \n
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to ensure effective case management. \n
