Job Details Competitive pay: $42.75 per hour Schedule: Five days per week, including every other weekend Shift Times: Day Shift: 7:00AM3:30PM Evening Shift: 3:00PM11:30PM Duration: 6 months Department: Laboratory Services Location: San Jose Benefits: Great working location Refer-a-friend bonus Weekly payroll 24-hour accessibility Personalized service Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) License Minimum of 1-2 years of phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital setting BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) Key Skills Experience drawing patients of all ages, including Trauma, ICU, Neonatal ICU, Mother/Baby, and Newborn populations Ability to perform 6-8 blood draws per hour in a busy hospital environment Experience using Beaker and Rover preferred Strong specimen collection, labeling, and handling skills Ability to collect blood cultures without contamination Knowledge of and adherence to all safety and isolation protocols Ability to remain on your feet and walk throughout the day in a large hospital setting Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages across multiple hospital units Accurately identify patients and verify specimen collection orders Utilize Beaker and Rover systems to access orders, print labels, and document specimen collection Collect blood cultures and other specimens following established protocols Label and process specimens accurately to ensure proper testing and patient safety Adhere to all infection prevention, safety, and isolation procedures Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment according to facility standards Collaborate with nursing, laboratory, and clinical staff to ensure timely specimen collection Provide compassionate and professional patient care while maintaining efficiency and accuracy Document all completed collections according to facility procedures About Us Power Personnel has been working with healthcare professionals like you since 1994.
