Portable Life Support System (PLSS) Project/Test Engineer

Overview Portable Life Support System (PLSS) Project/Test Engineer position with Aerodyne Industries collaborating with NASA. Key focus: EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification to enable deep space exploration and benefit Earth. Responsibilities Perform project engineering functions for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification. Analyze requirements from customers and develop design solutions in a team environment. Update plans and agreements for PLSS work scope with team leadership. Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze technical products and systems, including equipment design, test configuration assembly, and hardware testing. Assist troubleshooting and resolving technical issues identified during testing and integration. Review engineering drawings, requirements, and system specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with NASA standards. Contribute to documentation, including test reports, hazard analyses, design reviews, procedures, and TPS creation and execution. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Experience in aerospace or life support systems engineering preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Knowledge of NASA standards and certification processes. Proficiency in project engineering tools and documentation. Preferred Qualifications Detailed knowledge of vent loop gas flow rates, pressure management, and PLSS outlet CO2 control in closed and open loop modes. Knowledge of xEMU vent loop component design goals, flow rates/delta pressure, and functional operations. Experience with pressure systems, relief valves, transducers, flow meters, and calibration processes. Thermal control loop design and testing experience, including heat removal, pressure, flow rates, and component build history.
