Sr Patient Access Rep - Executive Health - Full Time

Job Duties Provide excellent customer service to all patients, guests, family members and employees and effectively communicate with patients throughout their medical experience. Perform daily operations activities such as ensuring accurate and timely collection of all data and required forms necessary for processing of charges/claims, and ultimately receipt and processing of payments owed to the company. Explain insurance benefits and collect co‑pays, deductibles, and self‑pay portions due, informing patients of financial responsibility. Research and resolve any issues impeding the efficient and effective registration of accounts; work with team on quality assurance scores to improve accuracy and monitor work queues for those accounts. Research and resolve complaints regarding customer service, registration, authorization or scheduling. Monitor and maintain productivity and accuracy: meet all department productivity and accuracy goals and maintain records documenting activity; monitor team member productivity/accuracy and work with team members on any identified issues. Adapt behavior to specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Education Required – High School diploma or equivalent; additional degrees, business training, experience, and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications. Preferred – Associate's degree Work Experience Required – 3 years direct experience in hospital, clinic, business services/revenue cycle, front‑line registration, financial counseling and/or direct experience in a healthcare environment. Certifications Preferred – Certification in Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM), Certification in Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), Certification as a Medical Assistant (or other medical specialty‑based certification). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity. Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur. Incumbent works in a patient care area; works directly with patients and specimens that may contain diseases.
