Civil Structural Engineer

Our Client are looking to recruit a Civil / Structural Engineer to support heavy industrial projects out of their offices east of Houston.

Job Responsibilities

• Review isometric drawings and specifications from vendors

• Review geotechnical reports and EOR documents and drawings

• Support project site teams with Requests for Information (RFI

• Review subcontractor design and shop drawings.

• Identify discrepancies in scope of work, contract, plans, or specifications and obtain resolution.

• Document change order requests

• Review order forms for equipment such as pipes, valves, etc

• Support proposal efforts in civil design and quantities

• Perform quantitative tracking and report work progress weekly with Project Controls team

• Ensure federal, state, and local compliance codes, compliance of drawings, and permit drawings

Education and Experience Requirements

• 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Environmental Engineering, or a similar field.

• 2+ years of experience in thermal energy (combined-cycle or simple-cycle) power plant construction, or other large-scale industrial projects.

• Familiar with AutoCAD Civil3D.

• Proficient with standard computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF.
