Construction Project Manager

You have zero civil or infrastructure construction project management experience. Our Ideal Applicant You have at least five years of civil or infrastructure construction project management experience. You want the whole thing on your shoulders. From the first site walk to closeout, you own it, and you like it that way. You write things down the moment they come up. You confirm details twice on anything going to a customer. You read the whole set of information before you make a call. You walk the work in person on a regular schedule. You do not manage a jobsite from a screen. When a hard conversation needs to happen, you show up in person for it. You keep the people around you informed without being prompted. The foreman knows the plan. The superintendent knows what is coming. The GM always knows where the job stands. You pick up work that falls between roles. When you see something no one owns, you handle it and move on. You ask when something looks off, right when you see it. You would rather raise a small question early than clean up a mess later. You take pride in a clean paper trail and a closeout that stands up on the first pass. What You'll Be Responsible For The Project, Start to Finish Each job is yours from the first site walk to closeout. You hold the schedule and the budget the whole way. You see problems coming and handle them early, before they cost time or money. When the job is done, the work is done to standard, the paperwork is closed out, and the GM never had to step in to save it. The Person With the Answer On every project you run, you are the one with the answer. You know the site, the scope, and the plan well enough to make the call when a question comes up in the field or the office. Our jobs vary widely. You come up to speed fast on whatever the next one demands. Support for the Field You work hand in hand with the foreman and the superintendent. The crews know what the job needs and have what it takes to do it because you are thinking a step ahead of them. You visit sites on a regular schedule and spot trouble before it becomes a problem. You back up the field, and you stay out of their way. Everyone in the Loop You tie together everyone with a stake in the job. Internal teams, clients, municipalities, and transit authorities. When a customer raises a problem, you listen and you own it through to resolution. Conflicts get handled before they grow. Relationships hold up because the person running the job answers for it. Paperwork That Holds Up You review the manager's paperwork so it is accurate before it moves forward. Every document goes out complete and correct the first time. You handle the in-office administrative and planning work with the same care you bring to the field. Both sides of the job are yours. Qualifications What will help you succeed here: Five or more years managing heavy civil, excavating, or infrastructure construction projects. Experience running projects for public agencies, transit authorities, and municipalities, including the required documentation and permitting. Ability to read civil drawings, specs, and site plans and turn them into a schedule and a field plan. A track record managing several varied projects at once, from small on-call jobs to larger infrastructure work. Comfortable splitting time between the office and active jobsites, including urban work. Strong working relationships with foremen, superintendents, and field crews, backing them up without running the work over them. Direct client-facing experience with the judgment to solve problems and hold a relationship through hard conversations. Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and cost tracking software. A valid driver's license and the ability to get to jobsites across the region on short notice, including during snow events. Physical ability to walk active construction sites in all weather, including uneven ground and confined urban conditions. Compensation and Benefits Annual salary of $120,000 to $140,000 depending on industry and relevant experience.
