Working Evening Custodial Supervisor

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Working Evening Custodial Supervisor to join our team in Charleston, WV. The Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining facility standards, leading night-shift staff, and ensuring overall account performance. This position involves a blend of hands-on cleaning, quality control inspections, team leadership, and monitoring labor/budgetary guidelines across assigned sites. Must be proficient in using a smartphone.

This position involves:

• Direct Cleaning & Fill-in: 60%
• Quality Inspections: 20%
• Staff Management & Training: 20%

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Staff Leadership & Training: Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily custodial work; train, mentor, and manage evening team members to ensure safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency.
• Routine & Replacement Cleaning: Perform routine custodial duties at assigned site(s) and cover cleaning duties when staff members are absent.
• Quality Assurance & Inspections: Conduct regular facility inspections to ensure cleaning standards meet client expectations and company quality guidelines.
• Professional Communication: Maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, account managers, team members, and facility visitors.
• Budgetary & Site Oversight: Support account efficiency and operational guidelines regarding supplies, hours, and resources.
• Special Projects: Execute or assist with periodic floor care or special cleaning projects as needed.
• Other Duties: Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned based on client or site requirements.

Physical requirements and working conditions include:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, stretch, and perform repetitive cleaning and inspection duties for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to safely lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs. (cleaning equipment, trash receptacles, supply containers).
• Ability to operate standard floor care equipment and handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely.

Qualifications and requirements include:

• Education & Experience: High school diploma, trade school completion, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training required. Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of proper floor care procedures, cleaning techniques, and custodial safety standards.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members, management, and client representatives.
• Reliability: Valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from assigned worksites.
