Speech Language Pathologist

Speech Language Pathologist Pay: $52 - $53 per hour ($2,080.0 - $2,120 weekly base pay). All on‑site, local contract. Starts 5/25/2026. Length 14 weeks. Hours: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM). Minimum guarantee: 40 hours. Location: Hilltop, WV. Position Summary: The Speech Language Pathologist will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in‑home setting for the older adult population. Services may be delivered in a patient’s private residence, assisted living facility, or independent living facility. The role includes evaluating, treating, and coordinating communication and swallowing interventions in the most functional settings. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Supervise CFY temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements. Adhere to department and patient treatment schedules, complete timely clinical and billing documentation, and attend work‑related meetings. Participate in patient care conferences and other related meetings. Make referrals to other disciplines and agencies as needed. Consult with rehabilitation team members and physicians to select the most appropriate therapeutic regimen. Adapt program and/or plan of care according to individual patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Maintain and report equipment status. Put Patient Service first, ensuring residents and families receive high‑quality, compassionate care. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients (history, systems review, tests, and measures), synthesize information, establish diagnosis, identify impairments, predict improvement, and design a plan of care. Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patients and caregivers, implement the treatment plan, and complete all related documentation. Provide therapeutic techniques in areas including cognitive‑communication, speech intelligibility, oral motor skills, swallowing disorders/dysphagia, perceptual abilities, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial expression, functional communication, and case management skills in the home and community. Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and instruct patients in their use. Facilitate identification of hearing deficits and refer for assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and/or personal amplification. Select appropriate activities based on individual physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interest. Instruct patients in required skills and evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior. Perform routine reexamination to modify and progress treatment plans. Coordinate care in the home and community with other interdisciplinary team members and the referring physician. Perform other related duties as required. Education and Vocational Requirements Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility. Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow. Valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to patient residences. Compliance Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures including those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act, and HIPAA. Participate in required orientation and training programs. Report concerns and suspected non‑compliance promptly via the Integrity Hotline. Cooperate with monitoring and audit functions and investigations. Participate in quality assurance and process improvement activities.
