Network Solutions Engineer at Insight Global San Antonio, TX

Job Summary We are looking for a Pre‑Sales Network Engineer to join a value‑added reseller client. The role involves serving as a technical advisor throughout the sales cycle, working closely with account executives and clients to understand business needs and architect tailored networking solutions. With hands‑on experience in Juniper, Xtreme, and HP Aruba equipment, you will design and present wired and wireless infrastructures that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. You will lead technical consultations, deliver product demonstrations, support implementation strategies, and contribute to proposals, BOMs, and network diagrams. The role also includes responding to RFPs/RFIs, advising on network security best practices, troubleshooting performance issues, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure solution feasibility and customer satisfaction. Strong communication skills, deep technical knowledge, and a consultative mindset are required to drive successful engagements and long‑term client relationships. This position requires 50‑60% travel across Central Texas. Location & Salary San Antonio, TX – Salary range: $100,000–$120,000. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in network engineering or pre‑sales technical roles. Proven expertise with Juniper, Xtreme, and HP Aruba networking equipment. Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs). Experience with network security, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Ability to run and perform wired and wireless implementations. Experience creating SOWs, RFIs, and RFPs.
