The belief in sustainability within our company’s practices creates a focus on client success and partnerships that are important to our communities and our environment.Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an experienced Design-Build Construction Specialist to support and deliver complex projects across aviation, building, power and infrastructure markets in the FL area.Position ProfileThis role is responsible for leading integrated project delivery efforts from preconstruction through execution, ensuring alignment between design and construction teams while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality objectives.The ideal candidate brings strong design-build experience, preferably within the aviation sector, along with a deep understanding of construction management, contractor coordination, and regulatory compliance. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving project success and client satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesProject LeadershipLead design-build project delivery teams, integrating engineering, design, and construction disciplinesServe as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and key stakeholdersOversee project planning, execution, and closeout to ensure successful deliveryDesign-Build CoordinationFacilitate collaboration between design and construction teams to optimize schedules, costs, and constructabilityProvide constructability reviews and value engineering recommendationsSupport development and execution of design-build proposals and contractsConstruction OversightManage construction activities, including contractor performance, compliance, and quality assuranceMonitor project budgets, schedules, and risk factors; implement corrective measures as neededEnsure adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligationsClient & Stakeholder EngagementBuild and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communicationParticipate in business development efforts, including pursuits and interviewsRepresent the firm in industry events and professional organizationsMarket Focus (Preferred)Aviation: airfield, terminal, or landside infrastructure projectsAlso applicable: vertical building projects and/or transportation, power or infrastructure programsOur positions offer a variety of benefits including:Potential for start-up signing bonuses.Paid overtime.High value compensation potential.Opportunities for company paid continuing education and training.What We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Education/Experience:Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC) license (required)Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or engineering project deliveryDemonstrated experience managing design-build projectsStrong knowledge of construction methods, project controls, and contract administrationPreferred QualificationsIn addition to the qualifications above the following will result in a more competitive candidate:North Carolina Contractor license (preferred, in addition to FL)Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience in aviation projects (airports, runways, terminals, support facilities)Background spanning both design and construction environmentsExperience within an engineering consulting or design-build firmKey Skills & CompetenciesLeadership and team managementStrong communication and stakeholder engagementProblem-solving and decision-making under pressureFinancial and schedule managementProductive ability and experience utilizing construction scheduling and document sharing software (Primavera P6, Procore, Microsoft Project, etc.)Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM)Knowledge of permitting, codes, and regulatory requirements (particularly in Florida and the Southeast)The hourly rate for this position is between $40.00 - $60.00 per hour based on experience, education, and/or certifications.BenefitsOur focus on people means we offer a generous benefits program to help you create a solid foundation for health and security throughout your career, including:Competitive compensationPerformance bonuses401(k) with matching contributionEmployee Stock Ownership PlanComprehensive health & well-being plansFinancial wellness plansWork-life balance programsWant to know more?
