About the Position

Job Title: RN Med Surg Profession: Nursing Specialty: Agency Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing must be obtained within specified timeframe based on start date. Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program. Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to make independent decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines. Maintains confidentiality. Description: Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as defined by professional and legal standards. Demonstrates competency through the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds standards of professional performance, including ethical practice and collaboration. Strives to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with policies and regulatory standards. Communicates and collaborates with health care team members to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Performs point-of-care testing as required. Demonstrates high standards of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior. Assesses the overall needs of patients and analyzes data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. Identifies expected outcomes and develops an individualized interprofessional plan of care in accordance with professional standards. Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies. Initiates discharge planning at the time of patient contact and facilitates a smooth transition to the next point of service. Ensures that required documentation is performed accurately and in a timely manner. Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to ensure safe, quality patient care. Engages in activities related to the professional role and seeks to advance knowledge and nursing competence. Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes position-related safety competencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
