Cafe FOH/BOH Team Member

Job Summary You are a Café Team Member at Urban Air Café. Your primary role is to serve guests efficiently with food and drink, work in the kitchen and/or service area, cashier, interact with guests, cook, and prepare and serve food. You must work quickly with a sense of urgency while offering outstanding guest service and care. Responsibilities Demonstrate the highest standards of guest relations and care when assisting guests at the counter Give guidance and recommendations on products and menu selections to guests to ensure a positive experience and repeat business Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies and consumables for the Café area Manage queues and exceed guest expectations; upsell to maximize profit Keep Café and surrounding areas tidy and clean, including table clearing, washing dishes, and taking out the trash Handle guest complaints in the first instance and report feedback to the Leadership Team Work within established guidelines and operating procedures Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items Properly cook and store food items at appropriate temperatures Rotate stock items as per established procedure Ensure compliance with all health code regulations Maintain clear, well‑organized kitchen and storage areas Participate in regular staff meetings and training, as required Qualifications Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred Previous restaurant or quick‑service experience preferred Basic math skills (adding and subtracting) required ServSafe or similar food‑handling certification preferred Additional Requirements Friendly and engaging personality with strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work under pressure Comfortable interacting with members of the public, initiating conversations and providing a sincere welcome Willingness to learn, take instruction, and work under own initiative; support other team members and multitask Strong sense of discipline, urgency, and a well‑organized, efficient team player Accountable for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism Physical Requirements Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required Work in a noisy, fast‑paced environment with distracting conditions Move throughout the facility and stand for long periods of time Lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
