Chief Medical Officer The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides clinical leadership and strategic direction for Oak Orchard Health's medical services. Working closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and executive leadership team, the CMO ensures the delivery of high quality, patient centered care while promoting clinical excellence, provider engagement, regulatory compliance, and organizational success. Essential Responsibilities Provide leadership for clinical quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, and evidence-based care. Oversee quality assurance, performance improvement, peer review, chart audits, and clinical outcomes. Ensure compliance with PCMH standards, FQHC requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations. Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and support physicians and advanced practice providers. Monitor provider productivity and support organizational performance goals. Collaborate with Nursing, Operations, and leadership teams to improve care delivery and clinical workflows. Support EMR optimization, provider training, and documentation standards. Partner with Human Resources in provider recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts. Review CME requests and oversee provider scheduling, including on call coverage. Serve as the organization's Chief Quality Officer. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education & Experience MD or DO degree required. Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or related primary care specialty required. Current New York State medical license or ability to obtain licensure. Minimum of five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of healthcare operations, quality improvement, reimbursement, and strategic planning. Understanding of FQHC regulations, New York State healthcare requirements, and accreditation standards. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations. Physical Activities This position requires continuous use of a computer, telephone, keyboard, copier, fax machine, and other standard office equipment throughout the workday.
