About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Acute Care Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3+ years of acute care experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with epidural medications highly preferred Description: This position is for an experienced Registered Nurse in the Acute Care Float Pool. Nurses will float to all acute care units, rehabilitation, and boarding areas. The role involves caring for high acuity patients in various medical conditions. The nurse will be responsible for managing and administering medications, including PCA and epidural analgesia. Experience titrating insulin and heparin drips is highly preferred. The work schedule includes three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Nurses may be required to change units multiple times during a shift. The position entails working in a teaching and magnet facility that values high-quality patient care. Staff will monitor patients for symptoms related to chemotherapy and provide necessary care for side effects. The nurse will operate under strict ratios, maintaining quality care for a diverse patient population. Additional skills required include accessing and managing ports, cardiac telemetry, and tracheostomy care. The role may require support for patients in the emergency department, PACU, or ICU as needed. Adherence to minimal time-off policies is expected to ensure maximum scheduling flexibility. Additional experience in a teaching facility is highly regarded.
