Federal Prosecution Attorney | Trial & Appellate

Responsibilities Partner with federal, state, and local law enforcement to manage criminal investigations and prosecutions brought in the federal courts in the Southern District of Alabama. Advise federal agents on questions of law and Departmental policy. Recommend charging decisions and propose dispositions with regard to assigned cases. Research and draft all legal pleadings and be prepared to try cases in federal court. Investigate and pursue asset forfeiture related to prosecutions. Assist with drafting appellate briefs and in preparing oral arguments for the 11th Circuit. Required Qualifications Applicants must possess a J.D. degree and be an active member of the bar in any U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants must have at least 1 year of post-J.D. legal experience or other relevant experience. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications Superior oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate critical issues with clarity. Strong analytical ability and problem‑solving skills, capable of working independently and contributing ideas. Excellent computer literacy, including automated research, electronic court filing, and word‑processing systems. At least two to three years of post-J.D. experience. Reliability, supportiveness, willingness to share credit, and active contribution to work product. Compensation Assistant United States Attorney pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The basic pay range is $67,863 to $165,209, with locality pay adding an additional 17.06% (total range $79,440 to $193,394). #J-18808-Ljbffr
