Speech and Language Pathologist Applications will be accepted beginning Thursday, May 14, 2026 12:00 AM (Central Standard Time) Summary: Teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. Type of Position: Speech and Language Pathologist Category: Certified Reports to: Building Administrator Experience: Two years teaching experience, preferred. Degrees required: The Speech and Language Pathologist must have a minimum of a Master's degree in Communication, a certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and licensure through the state board of registration for the healing arts and/or obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) credential offered by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Qualifications: The Speech and Language Pathologist must possess knowledge of instructional strategies, assessment practices, and effective therapy techniques. The speech and language pathologist must exhibit effective communication skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community. The Speech and Language Pathologist will be responsible for following the special education process from referral through placement and provision of services. The Speech and Language Pathologist will: Be informed of rules, policies, and regulations of the school district and follow them as required. Understand and apply the instructional process with teaching and learning. Be willing to provide leadership, motivation, instruction, assessment, and instructional strategies necessary to meet the needs of all students. Collect data and share student progress with parents throughout the year. Work as a team member. Provide classroom management in the therapy setting to ensure a positive learning environment. Provide a safe and orderly therapy environment. Have good interpersonal skills to work with staff members, students, parents, and the community. Pursue professional growth and maintain appropriate licensure. Maintain appropriate student records including all paperwork regarding the special education process of referral, placement, and provision of services. Handle confidential information appropriately. Maintain equipment and facilities in good condition. Be punctual and responsible in attendance. Travel within district may be required. Demonstrate conduct representative of the school and establish and maintain a good relationship with the community. Perform any other duties as assigned by the building administrator and/or special services administration. An individual who holds this position must have the ability to: Speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously, move around the classroom, read handwritten or printed material. Occasionally the individual will be required to work outdoors for short periods of time to perform such tasks as loading and unloading students from district transportation, supervising recess or field trips, and lift objects up to 50 lbs. Salary: Commensurate based on experience.
