This role manages the portfolio management pipeline for new and renewing credit, overseeing workflow management, issue resolution, and proactive communication with key stakeholders.Primary ResponsibilitiesEnsures new loans and renewals are underwritten to prudent risk standards and are in compliance with the commercial loan policy and the credit risk management policySupports, communicates and leads new risk management initiatives in partnership with Credit Products Risk ComplianceServes as a coaching resource around client selectivity, loan structuring, underwriting, servicing and risk ratingMaintains limited client portfolio direct managementHires/develops/coaches/manages Credit Products personnelEnsures Regions is building the best team and a bench to replace talent at all levels as neededCreates and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders including Credit Products Managers, Credit Products Associates, Credit Officers, Coverage Bankers, Business Unit Leadership, Geography Leadership and Human ResourcesMaintains a strong culture of risk rating accuracy and timeliness and leads the ongoing evaluation and dynamic management of risk ratingsEnsures credit monitoring and servicing is timely and accuratePartners with Credit Officers to serve as Area or Group point of contact for Credit Review, Problem Asset Management, and internal and external auditors in partnership with the Credit Products Risk Compliance GroupAssumes overall responsibility for all underwriting and portfolio management functions within the teamThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.This position is incentive eligible.RequirementsBachelor's degree in a related fieldTen (10) years of commercial/corporate banking experienceRequired Certifications/LicensuresCompletion of a major corporate credit training program (or the equivalent corporate banking/corporate finance experience)PreferencesSignificant accounting, finance and capital markets knowledge and commercial banking experienceTwo (2) years of coaching, leadership, and/or management experienceSkills and CompetenciesAbility to build a cohesive team that incorporates core values and creates a motivational environment that achieves business and credit risk goalsAbility to lead and coachDemonstrated self-starter with a strong work ethicExcellent interpersonal, problem solving, multi-tasking, and time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong working knowledge of the group’s emerging and key risksPosition TypeFull timeCompensation DetailsPay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.Job Range Target:Minimum:$174,987.12 USDMedian:$219,744.00 USDIncentive Pay Plans:This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan.
