Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Wisconsin

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day or Night), working 0700-1930 or 1900-0730, every other weekend, some holidays, no call. Flexible scheduling available including 4x12s or blocked weekends based on preference.

Highlights:

• 27-bed Cardiovascular Cardiothoracic ICU at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Specialized care for post-CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplant, LVAD, aortic dissection, and complex cardiac medical patients
• Patient ratios of 1-2 ICU patients or up to 3 general care patients based on acuity; supported by 2 charge RNs and a dedicated rapid response nurse per shift
• Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Advanced technology environment utilizing CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and Zoll Thermoguard equipment

Requirements:

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• CVICU experience required with demonstrated competency in cardiovascular intensive care
• Experience and knowledge of NxStage CVVH machine required
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas strongly preferred
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start (80% passing score required with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms and 3rd degree heart blocks)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
