Details Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital Floats within scope across all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7PM-7:30AM, 36 hours/week Required to work every other weekend with holiday rotation Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November) Requirements Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only accepted) Minimum 2 years of Peds ICU experience required Epic EMR experience required Skilled in administration of emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients Skilled in care/maintenance of acute airway and interpretation of ABGs Experience managing chest tubes and central/PICC line care ICP monitoring experience required Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE ECMO and CRRT experience preferred Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric patients across multiple ICU units First-time travelers considered if they meet required experience Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to approval based on unit needs Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local candidate determination American Traveler Job ID P-746108.
