About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Must-Have: TNCC preferred Description: ED RN position available for day shifts. 36 hours per week are required. Candidates must have 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. The patient ratio is 1:4, and can increase to 5 with lower acuity. Ability to care for all age groups, from infants to geriatrics, is necessary. Candidates should be proficient in handling a variety of complex diagnoses, including behavioral health and trauma cases. Every other weekend work is required. Holidays will be scheduled as needed. Floating within the specialty may be necessary. Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required. Candidates should be comfortable with managing various emergency situations. Skills required include abdominal pain management, acute psychosis intervention, and trauma care. Ability to administer emergency medications and perform critical procedures, such as intubation and central line management, is essential. Candidates should be knowledgeable in interpreting lab results and dysrhythmias. Experience in managing ventilated patients and drug overdoses is also necessary. Management of mental and behavioral health conditions is required. Travel experience is beneficial but not mandatory. Compliance with required certifications is expected prior to assignment.
