Athletics Communications Assistant

Job Description Brown University Athletics is seeking a seasonal Communications Assistant. The successful candidate will assist in social media, content creation, and game‑day needs for assigned varsity sports and serve as the primary contact for selected sports. Responsibilities Assist with content and social media efforts for primary and secondary sport assignments. Assist with game‑day coverage of primary and secondary assignments, including managing social accounts, tracking statistics, and posting pre‑, post‑, and in‑game content. Write press releases for BrownBears.com. Maintain daily internal and external communications for primary sport assignments. Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned. Work nights and weekends as required. Assist with in‑office tasks such as sorting/archiving photos, producing game notes, writing press releases, and updating record books. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Interest in collegiate athletics, athletic administration, or communications and social media. Familiarity with social platforms—Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud—Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere. Familiarity with DSLR cameras, preferably Canon. Strong understanding of a wide range of sports, rules, and statistics. Strong writing skills. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask.
