Telemetry Technician

Schedule & Location Full‑time, days shift Position in Galax, VA Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $15.27 – $18.86 p/hr. Responsibilities Monitors and records heart rhythms for patients receiving telemetry cardiac monitoring. Recognizes changes in rate, rhythm, or pattern, records the changes, and contacts a nurse or physician if necessary. Troubleshoots equipment and identifies false alarms. Applies technical skills to identify complex heart rhythm patterns. Works with patients across all age groups, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Required Education & Certifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Licenses: EMT, EMT‑P, CNA, SRNA, or CMA preferred; completion of first semester clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing degree program (ADN or BSN) acceptable. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Cardiac Telemetry certification within 1 year of hire; completion of a Telemetry/Dysrhythmia course.
