Nursing Director, Surgical Services

Location: Greater Phoenix Area | Full-Time | Relocation Assistance Available

The Opportunity

A well-established acute care hospital in the Greater Phoenix area is seeking a Nursing Director to lead its Surgical Services department. This is a full-scope director role — budget ownership, staff leadership, physician relations, quality strategy, and departmental operations all report through you. The compensation is negotiable DOE, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

The Role

As Nursing Director of Surgical Services, you hold 24-hour accountability for the ongoing effective operation of the department. That means leading people, managing the budget, maintaining regulatory compliance, and building the kind of environment where surgical staff and physicians want to show up and do their best work.

Your scope includes:

- Full budget preparation and adherence; supply chain management for the department
- Hiring, onboarding, evaluating, and developing surgical services staff
- Physician engagement and relations, measured through satisfaction data
- JCAHO and regulatory standards maintenance and monitoring
- Quality indicator reporting and patient experience improvement planning
- Department strategic planning in alignment with organizational goals
- Serving as hospital representative on medical staff committees

This is not a coordinator role dressed up with a director title. You own the P&L, the people strategy, and the performance outcomes.

What You Bring

**Required:**
- Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- Minimum five years of nursing management experience in a hospital setting, with at least three years of supervisory experience
- At least five years of progressive management experience in the OR (screening requirement)

**Preferred:**
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- WOCN certification (for wound care scope)
