Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Attorney with a strong background in the medical device sector to join their team in Chicago, IL. The candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely to some extent.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute medical device patent applications in the U.S. and internationally.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate and patentability analyses.
• Perform due diligence and handle patent procurement services.
• Manage patent portfolios effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in intellectual property law.
• Experience with medical device technologies, including surgical and robotics-assisted devices.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• License in good standing in the resident state.
• Registration before the USPTO.

Education

• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mechanical engineering preferred.

Certifications

• USPTO registration required.
