Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/21/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 21, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 4\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with critical care experience for a 13-week travel assignment requiring a KS or compact RN license.Details\n \n Work in a 25-bed Intensive Care Unit within the main hospital building\n Patient ratio of 1:2\n Unit staffed with charge nurse and unit secretary from 7a-11p, no tech support\n Uses Alaris pumps and GE monitors\n Documentation via MediTech\n Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM\n Self-scheduling with a requirement to work every 3rd weekend\n Travelers and agency staff float first, primarily to telemetry to take patients, or serve as a helper/resource in other areas\n Unit performs open heart recovery, bedside cardioversions, bronchoscopy, CRRT, and Impella procedures\n Requirements\n \n Active KS or compact RN license required\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required\n Strong communication skills and adaptability to change required\n Neuro and trauma experience a plus\n Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start\n No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)\n One professional reference required\n Additional Information\n \n Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including open heart recovery and complex bedside procedures\n Join a strong, collaborative teamwork environment\n Unit is working towards Unit of Distinction recognition, and the organization is pursuing Pathway to Excellence status\n Follows AIDET patient experience standards\n Required uniform is royal blue scrubs\n Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-746321.
