Job Title
Registered Nurse – Cardiac Stepdown
Location Augusta, GA | Acute Care
Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to an adult and geriatric population on a cardiac stepdown unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor and manage patients presenting with post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, and peripheral vascular disease
Perform telemetry monitoring, EKG interpretation, Doppler assessments, and peritoneal dialysis care
Conduct vital sign checks and blood glucose checks independently as part of routine patient assessment
Serve in a charge nurse capacity as required by the unit
Float within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
Required Qualifications

Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
Minimum 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
Charge nurse experience required
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
Proficiency with Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
Local candidates are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills

Prior experience in a cardiac stepdown or telemetry setting
Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis procedures
Experience with EKG interpretation and Doppler assessments
