The local shuttle driver will be responsible for executing local deliveries within a 50-mile radius with a tractor-trailer with the utmost care, professionalism, and accuracy.

Essential duties and responsibilities include operating 26' box truck safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and the Department of Transportation, accurately and efficiently loading and unloading cargo, often using a manual or powered pallet jack, backing truck to customer dock, maintaining compliance with Federal and State safety regulations and safe and professional driving behavior, communicating with customer representatives in a pleasant, respectful, and efficient manner, communicating and coordinating with dispatchers, complying with all DOT requirements including drug and alcohol testing, securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle, ensuring that any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving, and performing other duties as required.

Qualifications and experience include Class A CDL, minimum of 2 yrs. of verified experience within the past 4 yrs. 3+ preferred, minimum 1yr medical certificate, experience in load securement, route planning, and navigating various road conditions, exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle sensitive cargo with care, detail-oriented mindset, must have a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days, if required, no positive drug or alcohol test result in the past five (5) yrs., no accident involving bodily injury within the last three (3) yrs., no DUI/DWI, reckless driving or speeding tickets 12mph or higher in the past (5) yrs.

Physical demands include sitting for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle, using hands and fingers to operate a steering wheel, controls, GPS devices, and other on-board equipment, reaching with hands and arms, climbing in and out of the cab and trailer, stooping, kneeling, bending, or crouching during inspections, coupling/uncoupling, or loading/unloading activities, communicating effectively using verbal and hearing skills, seeing at a distance for safe driving, as well as close vision for reading documents, using electronic logs, and performing inspections, frequently carrying, pushing, or pulling freight weighing 1-125 pounds, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequently reaching for freight at waist level and occasionally above shoulder height or below waist level, squatting or crouching to handle and position freight, climbing in and out of the truck 4 to 6 feet, 8 to 10 times daily with assistance of various steps and handholds, occasionally bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching and balancing, conducting pre-trip inspection, fueling vehicles and checking engine oil/coolant levels, performing preventative maintenance, and being able to spend at least 5% of day standing and 5% of the day walking on surfaces such as wood, metal and concrete.

Work environment includes exposure to diesel fumes, airborne particles, and occasionally harsh weather conditions while loading or unloading, time spent both inside the truck cabwhich may involve extended periods of sitting and exposure to engine noise and vibrationand outside at customer sites, terminals, or on public roadways, and noise levels can vary from quiet inside the cab to moderate or loud at delivery or pick-up locations.

Expected base pay range is $28.00 $30.00 hourly / which include over night shift differential. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
