About Safe Pro AI

Landmines and explosive remnants of war contaminate 60 countries, killing civilians and inhibiting societal development. Ukraine is among the most affected, with an estimated 30% of its land unsafe to use. Safe Pro AI builds advanced aerial mapping and AI systems for humanitarian demining and defense, transforming drone and robotic sensor imagery into actionable 2D and 3D intelligence that saves lives. Our core mission is to protect civilians, deminers, and soldiers by detecting landmines and other explosive threats. Our flagship platform, SpotlightAI, is used by humanitarian demining organizations and military units globally. To date, our systems have detected over 50,000 explosive threats with more detected every day.

The founders of Safe Pro AI have worked on cutting-edge landmine detection research since 2019 through their non-profit, the Demining Research Community. Safe Pro AI was founded in early 2023 to operationalize that research at scale, particularly in Ukraine. We are a small, highly technical, mission-driven team spanning remote sensing, computer vision, robotics, and machine learning.

Position Overview

Safe Pro AI is looking for a high-agency and meticulous QA Engineer to serve as the quality safeguard for our software products spanning cloud, desktop and embedded platforms. You will be the primary QA owner in a fast-moving, high-impact environment, ensuring stable and robust product deliveries while rapidly improving our testing standards through automation and targeted testing of common edge-cases.

You will design and run automation suites, conduct manual tests, and work closely with our core engineering team to perform root-cause-analysis on defects across all of our products. You will also work directly with customers to quickly resolve technical issues in production, identify workarounds, and document defects for engineering to prevent recurrence. This role is ideal for a hands-on generalist who thrives with minimal direction, embraces extreme ownership, and wants their day-to-day work to directly protect lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Rapidly Improve QA Systems and Processes: Establish and formalize QA methodologies, test frameworks, release acceptance criteria, and regression test suites across our diverse product suite.
• End-to-End & Automated Testing: Build and maintain reliable automated test suites using modern frameworks (Selenium or Playwright), pairing automated coverage with meticulous exploratory testing across edge cases.
• Voice of Quality & User Feedback: Synthesize recurring customer friction points and QA metrics to help prioritize engineering roadmap items and UX improvements.
• Hands-on testing of new features and product releases, systematically exploring use cases, documenting and investigating bugs, and serving as a critical release gate by rapidly prioritizing issues and confidently assessing feature readiness.
• Technical Customer Support & Issue Triage: Help serve as the technical escalation point for customer-facing issues. Dig into logs, recreate user workflows, isolate root causes, and translate user reports into actionable bug reports for engineering.

What We Look For

• High Agency & Autonomy: You are comfortable being the primary QA resource. You do not wait for a checklist: you assess risks, build processes, prioritize test plans, and solve ambiguity independently.
• Modern Test Automation: Practical experience building and maintaining functional test suites for modern web applications using Playwright or Selenium.
• Agile Tooling Fluency: Hands-on experience managing sprint workflows, test cases, and bug tracking in Azure DevOps or Jira
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drone-based mapping, GIS, or aerial survey workflows is a major bonus (but not required!)
• Exposure to computer vision pipelines, photogrammetry, or 3D terrain reconstruction systems.
• Experience working on products in the defense sector

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience.
• Equity: Generous stock options and ownership opportunities in a mission-driven company, backed by a publicly traded parent organization ($SPAI).
• Work Environment: 100% remote flexibility with modern tooling and high autonomy.

What We Offer

• High-Impact Mission: The chance to work on technology that directly saves lives, protects soldiers and civilians, and aids in the recovery of conflict zones like Ukraine.
• Zero-to-One Impact: As our first dedicated QA professional, you have total latitude to define quality culture and testing architecture across the company. xhyhwjd
• Collaborative Culture: Work side-by-side with world-class experts in machine learning, computer vision, and geospatial engineering.
