Mechanical Assembler
This role focuses on performing mechanical assembly on bases for large generators in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. You will work with a variety of hand and power tools, follow documented procedures and instructions, and ensure all components meet quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly on bases for large generators according to standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble components safely and efficiently.
- Install foam insulation on generator bases and related assemblies.
- Lay out and securely zip tie electrical cables according to layout specifications.
- Lay out and bolt up pipe for natural gas systems, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
- Torque fasteners to specified values using a torque wrench and follow documented torque specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and tape measure measurements to complete accurate assemblies.
- Operate or work around overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment in a safe manner.
- Inspect completed assemblies for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, or blueprints.
- Experience using measuring tools such as a tape measure to perform accurate layout and assembly.
- Ability to use a torque wrench and apply torque to specified values.
- Comfort working around overhead cranes and heavy equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications and safety guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with large generators or similar heavy industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with natural gas piping layout and bolting practices.
- Experience installing insulation materials in mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility where you will work around heavy industrial equipment and overhead cranes. The standard schedule is a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will regularly use hand and power tools, torque wrenches, measuring tools, and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions in a production environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
