Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Technician in Channahon, IL! We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about working with diesel engines and ensuring they operate at peak performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your expertise is valued and your contributions make a real difference.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in diesel technology.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and recommendations.
- Be able to order parts for the shop
- Work well with the Shop Service Manager on leadership tasks
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical tractor- and trailer-related issues using standard testing procedures and computer diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on our fleet of trucks & trailers
- Perform DOT inspection per FMCSA guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- At least 3+ years of experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems.
- Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
