Job Posting DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Supervisor, Outpatient Pharmacy Operations will work closely with pharmacy leadership to implement policies, enhance service delivery, and foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and family-centered care. This person will handle day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for Boston Children’s Hospital’s Outpatient Pharmacy, encompassing both retail and specialty services.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervises daily operations for retail and specialty pharmacy teams, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, safety, and hospital standards.Collaborates with pharmacists, technicians, and administrative staff to maintain high-quality standards in dispensing, delivery, and patient support. Coordinates staffing, scheduling, and task assignments to maintain efficient workflow and service coverage.Provides direct supervision to pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support specialists, fostering a collaborative and accountable work environment.Provides pharmacist-level operational oversight and coverage for Outpatient Pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager, ensuring continuity of pharmacy leadership, regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational decision-making across retail and specialty pharmacy servicesOversees prescription verification, fulfillment, and delivery processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and patient satisfaction.Ensures safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, inventory management, patient coordination, and staff supervision.Monitors and optimizes inventory control, purchasing, and reconciliation processes in coordination with the Pharmacy Inventory and Logistics Coordinator.Responsible for staffing, workflow optimization, quality assurance, and training across both retail and specialty operations.Supports 340B program compliance, accreditation readiness (URAC, ACHC), and performance improvement initiatives, including collaboration with third-party administrators (TPAs) for split-billing reconciliation and audit readiness.Ensures operational compliance with URAC, ACHC, and Board of Pharmacy standards, participating in accreditation and inspection activities.Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs that promote safety and efficiency.Analyzes performance metrics, identifies process improvement opportunities, and implements corrective actions as needed.Participates in hiring, onboarding, and competency evaluations of pharmacy staff.Serves as a liaison between pharmacy leadership, hospital departments, and external partners to coordinate patient and provider needs. Upholds and models BCH’s values of respect, teamwork, safety, and family-centered care in all interactions.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferredExperience:Minimum of 3 years in a hospital outpatient pharmacy, one year of specialty pharmacy exp requiredStrong working knowledge of Epic Willow Ambulatory, 340B program operations, and third-party administrator (TPA) platforms required.Familiarity with URAC/ACHC accreditation, USP standards, and state Board of Pharmacy regulations.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize and manage complex workflows across multiple service lines.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with attention to operational detail.Proficiency with data management, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrated commitment to quality, compliance, and patient-centered care consistent with Boston Children’s Hospital standards.Licensure:Pharmacist license in the state of MASchedule- Mon-Friday day shift - with flexibilityStatusFull-TimeRegular, Temporary, Per DiemRegular Standard Hours per Week40 Pay Range$149073.60-$238524.00 AnnualOffice/Site LocationBostonJob Posting CategoryPharmacyRemote Eligibility Onsite Only : 86791BR: Patient Services-Pharmacy
