Purchasing Manager

Experience Required: 5+ years of production homebuilding purchasing experience We are partnering with a growing residential homebuilder seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing operations across the Tampa Bay market. This is a hands‑on role responsible for trade partner management, contract negotiations, cost control, and supporting the construction team to deliver quality homes on schedule and within budget. Please note: This position requires direct purchasing experience with a production homebuilder . Candidates without residential production homebuilding experience will not be considered. Responsibilities Manage all purchasing activities for residential production homebuilding projects. Solicit bids, evaluate proposals, and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade partners and vendors. Prepare and maintain construction budgets, cost estimates, and purchasing schedules. Negotiate and administer subcontract agreements. Identify value engineering opportunities while maintaining quality standards. Monitor labor and material costs to ensure competitive pricing. Work closely with Construction, Land Development, Sales, and Finance teams to support project timelines. Resolve purchasing, vendor, and cost‑related issues efficiently. Maintain purchasing systems, contracts, and cost databases. Qualifications 5+ years of purchasing experience with a production homebuilder (required). Strong understanding of residential construction methods, materials, and trade sequencing. Proven experience negotiating subcontractor pricing and contracts. Ability to read and interpret residential construction plans and specifications. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and purchasing/ERP software. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high‑volume production homebuilders. Experience purchasing for single‑family residential communities. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field is a plus. Why Apply?
