The Staff Adult Psychiatrist functions as a leader of the interdisciplinary treatment team in the facility hospital. The leadership involves the supervision and direction of the team’s professional assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, treatment, discharge planning, performance improvement and clinical programming activities. The Staff Adult Psychiatrist provides consultation to other psychiatrists on difficult‑to‑manage patients, serves as a member of assigned hospital and departmental committees, and shares on‑call responsibilities to ensure continuity of high‑quality care. Preferred and appointed candidates will be subject to pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, reasonable suspicion, return‑to‑duty, and follow‑up drug and/or alcohol testing. Education Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine. Include a copy of the license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan. Experience Completion of a psychiatric residency program. One year of experience as a psychiatrist in a mental health, clinic, program, or correctional facility.
