Join us in making Mr. West the local cafe of choice with your experience to:

• Provide excellent customer service, operating the point of sale, and making great tasting espresso beverages
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
• Use your technical knowledge and ability to produce exceptional quality coffee at a specialty standard
• Make espresso drinks while maintaining standards set by Mr. West Coffee
• Provide customers with product details, be passionate in your approach and demonstrate knowledge of all food and drink items
• Have great work ethic, willingness to tackle any & all projects as needed and work calmly and well under pressure
• Maintain a clean and welcoming space
• Manage daily inventory and daily cleaning tasks
• Receives and processes customer payments, transitioning seamlessly between tasks as needed
• A strong sense of urgency and efficiency to manage all station responsibilities in a timely manner
• Support other team members in daily duties

Qualifications:

• 1 year Barista experience
• 2+ years experience in food environment or in a customer service role
• High volume food and beverage experience required
• Experience in specialty coffee environment preferred
• Ability to succeed in a team environment and independently
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Excellent communication

Work is performed primarily in a fast-paced café with frequent distractions and loud noises.

Physical

The person in this position needs to occasionally or frequently:

Maneuver about inside the cafe/office to access food/beverage items, machinery, and other restaurant equipment

Operate basic office equipment

Operate basic cafe equipment

Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs to service the machinery, lights, ceiling fans, etc.

Be able to exchange accurate information while communication with customers

Be able to distinguish different tastes, i.e., sweet and bitter flavors.

Work in a noisy/distracting environment
