Preconstruction Project Engineer

Epc Preconstruction Project EngineerSOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.The EPC Preconstruction Project Engineer will support the preconstruction team, coordinate and manage project deliverables to achieve project profitability and schedule goals. This position is team oriented, fast paced and responsible for the coordination and completion of the assigned projects.This role is hybrid with regular in office presence in San Diego, CA. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.Position Responsibilities and Duties:Able to perform all essential Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer responsibilitiesAttend and document project meetings (write minutes)Set up and maintain electronic filing systemUpdate and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logsAssist with defining and creating LNTPsAssist with ensuring preconstruction activities align with LNTPs,scope, budget, and schedulesLiaison with the Engineering Manager to track changes that impact project schedule and/or budget and provide those changes to the Project ExecutiveSupport Operations and/or Contracts Teams in tracking EPC exhibitsAssist with preparation of CPM schedulesAssist with updating and maintaining master CPM scheduleEvaluate and understand basic construction means and methodsMaintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meeting, training, etc.Distribute all documents to project partners and maintain document logsReview, analyze, and transmit submittalsPrepare and maintain RFI, submittal and procurement logsCode Accounts Payable Workflows or verify correct codes as assignedVerify original estimate quantities for labor cost reportsMaintain PCI log in CMiC systemSet up and maintain a Quality Management systemPrepare billings and expedite paymentsSet up and maintain all aspects of the CMiC systemAssist in preparing bid packages, soliciting, and evaluating bidsAssist in writing project proceduresComplete other responsibilities as assignedMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:1-3 years of construction-related experience, or equivalentConstruction related internship experience preferredField experience a plusBasic understanding of construction cost accountingBasic estimating and scheduling skillsBasic computer skillsAbility to read and understand plans and specificationsEffective organizational skillsEffective written and verbal English language communication skillsAbility to use independent judgment; self-startingDrafting and advanced computer skills a plusApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.SOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
