Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role serves as a key production team member responsible for safely driving a tugger and transporting materials to keep the production line consistently supplied. You will move raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished goods, maintain packaging and dunnage, and support a smooth workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position requires safe equipment operation, basic problem-solving, clear communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Drive a tugger safely and efficiently to transport materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Supply the production line with raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished goods to maintain continuous operations.
• Maintain adequate levels of packaging materials and dunnage to support ongoing production needs.
• Handle, move, and organize materials in a timely and accurate manner to support production schedules.
• Follow established procedures and safety guidelines when operating equipment and handling materials.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow and resolve issues quickly.
• Identify basic production or material flow problems and escalate or help resolve them to prevent delays.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety.
• Collaborate with other production team members to support overall workflow and meet production targets.
• Perform general production support tasks as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

• Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Ability to operate computerized equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Capability to safely operate a tugger or similar material handling equipment.
• Strong awareness of safety practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic problem-solving skills to address routine production and material flow issues.
• Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and focus.

• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred.
• Background in general production or manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with material handling processes, including movement of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs and priorities.

This is a Contract position based out of Morristown, TN.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.80/hr.
