Shift – Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (07:00 PM – 07:00 AM)
Rotation – No Block Scheduling
Float – Yes

Job Description

Registered Nurse – Stepdown responsible for providing specialized care to patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level critical care in a DOU/Stepdown setting. The RN will assess, monitor, and manage complex patient conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

This position requires extensive Stepdown experience and the ability to work within a float pool environment. Candidates must be comfortable floating to appropriate units based on competency and facility needs.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills / Experience

Minimum 5 years of Stepdown RN experience required

PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required

Float Pool experience preferred

Ability to care for high-acuity patients requiring continuous monitoring

Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Current California RN License required (license in hand at submission)

Preferred Skills / Experience

Neuro Stepdown experience preferred

ER Holding experience preferred

CPI certification preferred

Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required

NIHSS required

California RN License required

Additional Requirements

RTO must be submitted at time of submission

Local travelers accepted at same bill rate

Charting System – Paragon (training provided)

Candidates with DUI background history will not be accepted

COVID-19 Vaccination required – No exemptions

Assaultive Behavior Course

Fire Card Course

Floating Policy

Traveler may float according to facility needs and competency.

ICU nurses may float to DOU/Telemetry.

DOU/Telemetry nurses may float to Med/Surg.
