Location This is a full‑time, in‑person opportunity in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Our practice is collaborative and client‑facing, so the majority of work is performed in the office. Job Description Represent clients in divorce, custody, support, adoption, modification, and other family law matters. Manage cases from initial consultation through negotiation, mediation, hearings, trial, and resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents. Conduct legal research and develop thoughtful case strategies based on each client's goals and circumstances. Prepare for and appear at hearings, mediations, negotiations, and court proceedings. Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel. Counsel clients through sensitive and complex personal, financial, and family issues. Collaborate with experienced attorneys and staff while developing increasing independence and responsibility. Maintain organized case files, deadlines, calendars, and client communications. Deliver professional, responsive, and compassionate client service. Qualifications Active license to practice law in Alabama required. Genuine interest in family law required for associate‑level candidates. Family law, litigation, courtroom, mediation, or client‑management experience is valuable but not required for first‑year attorneys. Strong legal writing, research, communication, and analytical skills. Comfortable working directly with clients and handling sensitive legal matters. Strong judgment, professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. Ability to work primarily in office in the Birmingham area.
