Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1-2 years preferred License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS/ACLS required Must-Have Skills/Experience: EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills Team-oriented and flexible Description: The role involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations. You will manage admissions and discharges and possess basic cardiac drip knowledge. Common diagnoses include CHF, chest pain, acute respiratory failure, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and post-cardiac catheterization care. The unit consists of 22 beds with patient ratios of 5:1 or 6:1. Equipment includes Welch Allyn vital sign machines, Hoyer lifts with weight scales, Abbott glucometers, computers on wheels, TR bands, and Baxter IV pumps. The electronic health record system utilized is Meditech. You will report to the clinical staff lead or charge nurse. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including weekend hours every other or every third weekend. Additional note: The position may require floating to Med/Surg overflow areas.
