Drone Operations Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Drone Operations Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and supporting drone pilots across the United States. This role ensures efficient deployment of drone missions, real-time operational support, and alignment with customer requirements, regulatory compliance, and company priorities.

This is a full-time, on-site role in Mesa, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatch & Scheduling:

• Coordinate daily and long-range scheduling of drone pilots nationwide.
• Assign missions based on pilot availability, certifications, geography, and equipment.
• Optimise routing and deployment efficiency to reduce downtime and travel costs.
• Maintain real-time dispatch board and adjust schedules dynamically.

Pilot Coordination:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for field drone pilots.
• Communicate mission details, updates, weather conditions, and operational changes.
• Track pilot status (en route, on-site, mission complete, delayed, etc.).

Operational Support:

• Monitor active missions and provide real-time support or escalation.
• Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and customer teams.
• Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company SOPs.

Systems & Reporting:

• Use dispatch, fleet management, and airspace tools (e.g. LAANC, flight planning software).
• Track KPIs such as utilisation rates, mission completion times, and pilot productivity.
• Generate daily/weekly operational reports.

Customer & Internal Coordination:

• Interface with clients to confirm schedules and service expectations.
• Work closely with sales and operations leadership to prioritise high-value missions.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 2–5+ years in dispatch, logistics, operations coordination, or similar role.
• Experience managing remote field teams across multiple regions.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, real-time operational environments.

Preferred:

• Experience with drone/UAS operations.
• Familiarity with FAA Part 107 regulations.
• Background in aviation dispatch, logistics technology, or field service operations.
• Experience with dispatch or fleet software platforms.
