At MGM Resorts, we seek individuals like YOU to create unique and show-stopping experiences for our guests.THE JOB:It is the primary responsibility of the Production Manager to supervise the production team and ensure that event fabrication projects are completed on time, in budget, and meet company standards. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices, and procedures.THE DAY-TO-DAY:Manages production department, and ensures that fabrication work is consistent with the client’s budget and objectives and the department’s service standardsEstimates project materials, creates budget for project build, and creates tracking reports for business reviewMaintains vendor relationships, communications, and project bidsCollaborates with warehouse team to have items pulled in a timely manner and communicates project onsite setup needsOversees daily work assignments for employees that produce props, including fabrication, woodshop, fabric, and paint. Ensures the following: paperwork is properly read and followed; props are complete, wrapped, marked, and ready for delivery; woodshop and fabrication team repairs assets in a timely mannerAssists employees on various techniques, equipment, prop building, and riggingPrepares and approves Purchase Requests for production department and monitors/tracks event costSchedules employees, monitors production time, quality, and timelines; order outside labor as neededSupervises assigned staff to include hiring recommendations that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; training; coaching; performance feedback, counselingEnsures supervisor(s) maintain department safety standards, tool, asset, and equipment maintenanceCreates a work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, creativity, recognition, respect, and employee satisfaction.Monitors condition of tools/props/furniture/décor; document and report damagesDevelops clear knowledge of hotels/venues, dock/security procedures and ballroom specs; perform site inspections as needed.Anticipates and solve design and production problems and timeline issuesPartners with property and MGM Resorts International departments to resolve issuesCommunicates project status, timelines and delivery information to clients and internal teamsBecome well versed on the Event Image site and fluent in MGM Resorts Events inventory, and monitors inventory levelsStay current in design trends, technology, fabrication techniques, props/design elements, and vendor productsActs as a MREP ambassador for the company and within our industryCompletes all required paperwork, monitor staff paperwork for accuracy and consistencyParticipates in event production, installation/tear down and loading/unloading of vehicles as neededProvides estimates for business development and account management, partnership with project management and operationsMust complete OSHA training, and other trainings as requiredTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Bachelor's Degree required2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in prop fabrication, construction, theatrical or event industry requiredPortfolio required; must complete a design test within a specific time frameTHE PERKS & BENEFITS:Wellness incentive programs to help you stay healthy physically and mentallyAccess to company hotel, food and beverage, retail, and entertainment discounts as well as discounts with company partners on things like travel, electronics, online shopping, and moreFree parking on and off shiftHealth & Income Protection benefits (for eligible employees)Professional and personal development through programs and networking opportunities as well as volunteer opportunities in the communityVIEW JOB DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to JOIN THE SHOW?
