Histotechnician

Labcorp seeks a Histotechnician for casual/per diem work in Seattle to process tissue specimens and prepare histopathological slides. The role involves embedding, sectioning, staining, and conducting immunohistochemical testing following laboratory protocols and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination
- Embed, orient, and section tissue using microtome for slide preparation
- Perform H&E and special staining techniques, including immunohistochemical testing
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manual and automated laboratory instrumentation
- Conduct preventive maintenance, quality control procedures, and maintain equipment documentation
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ years histology experience
- ASCP Histology certification preferred
- 1+ years experience with routine histology procedures and equipment
- 1+ years experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC) preferred
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and labeling
Compensation: $29.10-$44.47 per hour
