As a Purchasing Assistant II within East Central Public Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event including but not limited to: staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD). If you are called on to participate, you are required to report to the designated site as a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of job related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management or 1 year of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent I (FET040) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Use of Microsoft O365 platforms with experience in Microsoft excel
• Communicates verbally and in writing
• Involves moderate to heavy physical activity
• Knowledge of purchasing principles and procurement procedures
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, staff, and management

Under the pre-employment fitness-for-duty this position is considered a Category 2: Active: Involves moderate to heavy physical activity, potentially dangerous equipment operation, and/or exposure to unusual working conditions like weather extremes or chemicals.
